New Haven, CT – April 26th, 2022 – The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first ever Nonprofit Board Recruitment Fair, presented by The Good Karma Coffee Company, on Wednesday, May 11th, from 3pm to 5pm at Albertus Magnus College in the Hubert Campus Center, located at 700 Prospect Street, New Haven, CT 06511. This Fair is intended for those interested in serving on a board and engaging with the nonprofit community.
During the fair, attendees will be able to meet organizations with board openings, network with those who have shared passions, and learn how board service can affect change. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with nonprofits to identify if their mission aligns with values and interests.
“The Chamber created the Nonprofit Board Recruitment Fair after our Nonprofit Resource Council identified the need for nonprofits to diversify their boards. The goal of this event is to facilitate connections between nonprofits with board opportunities and professionals in the regional community who want to serve on a board. We hope that this event will further support the important work nonprofits do to strengthen our local communities,” said Garrett Sheehan, President & CEO of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce.
Nonprofits participating in the Fair include Arts in CT, Diaper Bank of Connecticut, New Haven Port Authority, Marrakech, Inc., Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, Inc., The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, SARAH, Inc., Literacy Volunteers for Greater New Haven, United Way, and more.
The Chamber’s May Business After Hours (BAH) will take place at Albertus Magnus College directly following the Board Recruitment Fair. BAH is a monthly happy hour hosted by a different Chamber partner each month. There will be no charge for the May Business After Hours.
If you are an organization looking for board members, there is still room to sign up for a booth. Please contact Elizabeth Herlihy at eherlihy@gnhcc.com or (203) 782-4372 for more information on obtaining a booth.
