Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, has recently taken to social media to address issues concerning middle-class Americans and food safety. Her posts highlight her ongoing commitment to these critical matters.

On November 18, 2024, DeLauro expressed concern about the financial challenges faced by middle-class Americans. She stated that "The deck has been stacked against middle-class Americans for far too long. Even the hardest-working people are struggling to pay their bills, afford childcare, or put food on the table." DeLauro emphasized her dedication to reducing everyday costs and ensuring families can provide for themselves.

Later that day, she issued a public health warning regarding an E. coli outbreak linked to carrots. In her post from November 18, 2024, she advised consumers "If you have purchased carrots recently to check the brand on the @CDCgov site for the full list of brands affected by an E. coli outbreak." She urged people not to consume recalled products for safety reasons.

DeLauro also addressed broader concerns about food safety in America in another post dated November 18, 2024. She argued that "In one of the wealthiest countries in the world, there should be no doubt about the safety of the food Americans put onto their tables." She called for preventive measures to ensure that food is safe and free from contamination before reaching homes.
