Rosa DeLauro, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 3rd district since 1991, recently shared her views on several pressing issues via social media. The congresswoman, who succeeded Bruce Morrison in office, continues to voice her concerns and support for various policies affecting Americans.
On December 11, 2024, DeLauro expressed criticism towards the Republican party regarding tax filing services. She stated: "Once again, Republicans are showing us who they are fighting for. Filing your taxes should be free and easy. Republicans should protect this service for hardworking Americans – not the financial interests of big corporations."
Later that day, she extended gratitude to President Biden for their collaborative efforts on women's health and the expansion of the Child Tax Credit in 2021. She emphasized the importance of supporting women’s health research by saying: "Thank you @POTUS, it has been an honor working together on women's health in America, & expanding the Child Tax Credit in 2021. We must support women’s health research to ensure all women have access to resources to live healthy lives & that families have the ability to thrive."
On December 12, 2024, DeLauro commented on new consumer protection measures introduced by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). She remarked: "Today, @CFPB released new protections against overdraft fee abuses, closing a loophole that allowed banks to unfairly gouge their customers for an inexpensive service. These protections will keep billions in the pockets of Americans & stop a predatory practice in its tracks."
