Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 3rd District since 1991, has expressed her views on various policies and actions taken by President Trump through a series of tweets. DeLauro, known for her advocacy on economic and social issues, addressed concerns regarding the Child Tax Credit, tariffs, and economic inequality.

In a tweet posted on March 5, 2025, DeLauro criticized former President Trump for not supporting the expansion of the Child Tax Credit. She argued that his actions were detrimental to both the economy and children: "If Trump was serious about bringing the cost of living down, he would help make permanent the expanded, monthly Child Tax Credit."

On the same day, DeLauro commented on Trump's approach to international trade and its implications for inflation and living costs. She stated: "More lies from President Trump! Instead of cutting prices on day 1 like he promised, he wants to put tariffs on our closest allies and hurt our economy."

Later that morning, she took issue with Trump's collaboration with billionaire Elon Musk in relation to tax breaks and subsidies. Her criticism focused on their lack of attention to reducing family expenses: "President Trump along with unchecked billionaire Elon Musk is looting from the American people to fund massive tax breaks and subsidies for the richest Americans and biggest corporations."
