Rosa DeLauro, a seasoned congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district, has voiced critical opinions regarding recent political actions involving Medicaid and other social programs. DeLauro, who has represented her district since 1991, used social media to communicate concerns about policy shifts under the Trump administration.

On April 16, 2025, DeLauro tweeted her concerns about cuts to Medicaid, which she says threaten various populations, including children and disabled individuals. She claimed that these cuts, aimed at funding tax cuts for billionaires, would particularly harm mothers and babies. She urged for resistance, stating, "We must fight back."

Later the same day, DeLauro highlighted the fiscal impact of potential Medicaid cuts on her state. She stated in a tweet that Connecticut stands to lose over $5 billion in federal healthcare funding if the cuts materialize. She noted that Medicaid in Connecticut supports vulnerable groups such as children, adults with disabilities, and nursing home residents, emphasizing, "I fight for CT families, not Musk."

On April 17, 2025, DeLauro further criticized actions by President Trump, accusing him of raising living costs through Social Security cuts and tariffs. She appealed to the President to focus on supporting middle-class and working-class citizens rather than affluent billionaires. Regarding the administration's economic policies, she asserted, "Fight for us, not billionaires like."

DeLauro, born in New Haven, Connecticut, is known for her advocacy on issues affecting her constituents. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's degree from Marymount College, Tarrytown.
