17 percent of applicants to Wesleyan University were admitted for fall 2018

At Wesleyan University, 96 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Middletown enrolled 3,217 students in fall 2018, including 3,009 in undergraduate and 208 in graduate programs, data shows. 1.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

6 percent of undergraduates are residents of Connecticut, and 80 percent are residents of other states. 14 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (53 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (12 percent).

The school admitted 17 percent of the 12,706 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 36 percent enrolled.
