84 percent of applicants to the University of New Haven were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of New Haven, 92 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in West Haven enrolled 6,867 students in fall 2018, including 5,092 in undergraduate and 1,775 in graduate programs, data shows. 3.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

40 percent of undergraduates are residents of Connecticut, and 59 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (62 percent) and Black or African American (12 percent).

The school admitted 84 percent of the 10,426 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 15 percent enrolled.
