Cost of college went up for all students at Wesleyan University

Tuition and fees rose 4.1 percent for 2018-19 at Wesleyan University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Connecticut students paid $54,944 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $2,140 more than the $52,804 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 47 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 316 students received grants or scholarships totaling $15.4 million and 202 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,217), 1,275 students used grants or scholarships totaling $60.8 million, and 769 students took out $3.7 million in federal student loans.
