Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 3rd district since 1991, recently took to social media to discuss various initiatives and issues she is actively involved in. DeLauro, known for her commitment to public health and family welfare, shared her efforts and advocacy through a series of tweets.

On November 19, 2024, DeLauro mentioned her conversation with the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She emphasized the importance of translating research discoveries into treatments and highlighted investments in women's health research as well as mental health research aimed at improving people's lives. She stated, "I spoke with @NIHDirector to ensure research discoveries are translated into treatment, invested in women’s health research, & target mental health research to improve people's lives." She further declared her mission to increase bipartisan investments in NIH's life-saving research for the year 2025.

Later that day, DeLauro addressed concerns regarding infant nutrition and safety. In a tweet posted on November 19, 2024, she called on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to raise awareness about the protective benefits of human breastmilk against necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and pointed out the limitations associated with cow's milk-based fortifiers for vulnerable infants. Her statement urged proactive measures from the FDA: "This morning, I asked the FDA to raise awareness that human breastmilk appears to be protective against the development of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) & the limitations of cow’s milk-based fortifiers for vulnerable infants."

In another post on November 19, 2024, DeLauro highlighted ongoing efforts by House Democrats to support American families. She reiterated their readiness to collaborate on bipartisan solutions such as expanding the Child Tax Credit, providing paid leave, and ensuring food safety. Her tweet read: ".@HouseDemocrats are fighting to help American families thrive."
