Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 3rd District since 1991, expressed gratitude and commitment through a series of tweets on November 28, 2024.
In her first tweet, DeLauro conveyed her appreciation for continuing to serve Connecticut in Congress. She emphasized her dedication to addressing financial concerns for families as the year draws to a close. "This Thanksgiving I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Connecticut here in Congress. As we near the end of the year, I remain committed to fighting for your families – reducing your costs, putting more money in your pocket, & ensuring your families thrive."
Later that day, DeLauro acknowledged the efforts of law enforcement at various levels in maintaining safety for herself and her colleagues. "I am grateful for local, state, and federal law enforcements efforts to keep me, my colleagues, and our community safe today."
DeLauro also reported receiving a bomb threat akin to those directed at other members of the Connecticut congressional delegation. She noted that the New Haven Police Department’s bomb squad responded promptly and confirmed there was no explosive device present at her residence. "Today, I received a bomb threat similar to my colleagues in the Connecticut congressional delegation. The New Haven Police Department’s bomb squad has responded & determined no bomb was present at our home. I am thankful for their swift response & relieved no one was harmed."
