Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district, has taken to social media to express her views on several pressing issues. Known for her advocacy and representation since replacing Bruce Morrison in 1991, DeLauro's recent statements highlight her commitment to federal employees, national security, and education.
On March 3, 2025, DeLauro addressed the plight of federal employees in a tweet: "I see the hard work that our federal employees do every day. Nearly 643,000 of those federal employees are veterans, who chose to keep serving their country. Over 6,000 veterans have now lost their jobs. I stand with our workers & will continue to fight these unlawful attacks."
In another post dated March 4, 2025, she criticized the current administration's foreign policy stance: "This is a disgrace to American values. While Ukrainians fight for democracy, this administration has emboldened our enemies and weakened our security. This betrayal undermines everything we stand for and will only fuel more invasions and bloodshed by ruthless dictators."
Also on March 4th, DeLauro shared her pride in hosting Connecticut’s Teacher of the Year at a significant political event: "Today, I’m honored to have Connecticut’s 2025 Teacher of the Year, Julia Miller, as my guest at the President's joint address to Congress. Teachers shape our children’s future; we must fight to support them. Together we stand against Trump’s plan to dismantle public education."
