On June 9, U.S. Representatives Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced they submitted a comment letter on the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendations relating to breast cancer.
“We have serious concerns with the Task Force’s Draft Recommendations for Breast Cancer Screening,” said Congresswoman DeLauro and Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz. “These recommendations fall short of the science, create coverage gaps, generate uncertainty for women and their providers, and exacerbate health disparities. We strongly urge the Task Force to revise its draft recommendations and recommend that annual screenings begin at age 40, coverage of supplemental screenings for women with dense breasts, and more.”
