Rosa DeLauro, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, has been actively voicing her opinions on various political matters. On February 14, 2025, she shared several posts addressing significant issues and actions taken by the government.
In one of her tweets, DeLauro mentioned her role as Chair of Appropriations in securing an increase in federal funding for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for the first time since fiscal year 2010. She stated, "As Chair of Approps, I secured the NLRB's first federal funding increase since FY10." She also highlighted her collaboration with @Labor_Caucus and Senator Bernie Sanders to lead a bipartisan group of lawmakers condemning former President Trump's firing of NLRB member Gwynne Wilcox.
Later that day, DeLauro addressed potential staffing cuts at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She claimed to have received information about plans by Elon Musk and his administration to reduce HUD staff by half. In her tweet, she expressed concern about the impact on vulnerable groups, stating "Seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities will be evicted if they can’t foot the bill."
DeLauro also marked the seventh anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting by urging legislative action against gun violence. Reflecting on this tragic event that resulted in 17 fatalities among students and educators, she tweeted "On the 7th anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas H.S. shooting...I urge my colleagues to take action to pass legislation to end the gun violence epidemic."
